Paint to Sample is Porsche's way of saying yes to a colour that isn't on the chart. You choose it, they mix it, the car takes longer to build and costs more. On a GT3 - the naturally aspirated, high-revving, track-leaning 911 - it makes for an odd and very good combination: the most serious version of the car, finished in the least serious colour available.

Pink is genuinely difficult on camera. It sits in a part of the spectrum consumer screens exaggerate, so a car that looks right on a calibrated monitor arrives on a phone shouting. Working under controlled light means you can fix that at the source instead of in the grade - set for the paint, keep the highlights off the shoulder line, and let the colour be the only loud thing in the frame.

It also refuses to sit quietly next to anything else. Warm fixtures and a reflective floor both push a pink car towards orange, and once that happens it stops being the colour anyone actually ordered. Everything around the car has to stay neutral, which narrows where it can stand.
