The X6 invented a category nobody asked for in 2008 - an SUV with the roof of a coupé - and then sold enough of them that most manufacturers now build one. The M Competition is the version with the twin-turbo 4.4-litre V8, quoted at 625 hp, plus the brakes and suspension to go with it.
Height is the whole problem. A supercar looks best from near the floor, where the horizon sits above the roofline and the car looms over the lens. Do that with an SUV and you get a van. The X6's entire argument is the roofline falling away towards the tail, and that only reads from the side at roughly shoulder height, moving - which means the camera works at a completely different level to everything parked next to it.
It carries more glass than anything else in the room, too. A rear screen that size mirrors the ceiling in one unbroken piece, so the lighting above becomes part of the car whether that was the plan or not. Dark tint helps less than you'd think, because it darkens the reflection without removing it.
