Sixteen cylinders arranged in a W, four turbochargers, eight litres. The Super Sport is quoted at 1,578 hp and limited to 440 km/h, a figure that functions mostly as an argument. Its bodywork is stretched longer than a standard Chiron's, because past a certain speed the air behind the car matters more than the air in front of it.

It isn't a car that rewards fast cutting. The Chiron's defining feature is the C running down its flank, and a C is a shape you have to travel along to read - cut away early and it's just a door. So the moves are slow and the holds are long, which under controlled light is a luxury, because nothing is changing while you take your time.

That flank is also one continuous curve, and a curve that size behaves like a fisheye mirror. Standing on a showroom floor it collects the lighting rig, the glass at the front of the building and its own reflection off the polished floor, all at once and all bent. Getting a clean run down the side of a Chiron is a positioning problem before it's a camera problem.
